2009 Fall CSA Welcome Letter

Dear MHOF 2009 Fall shareholders,

Here is the skinny on the fall CSA:

Fall pick up dates

Generally speaking the food should be ready for pick up at noon. Sometimes it is too cold, too cold even in the hoop house, for us to pick in time to have it ready by noon. So, when or if in doubt, check in with us before coming out. Usually if the forecast looks rugged, we figure out how to pick the day before at the warmest point of the day.

There are no pick up coops arranged for the fall share. Take note you folks from Holden, Worcester, Fitchburg and Palmer who were in summer pick up coops. Brian Fecteau who works here and lives in Worcester is willing to do a delivery coop to the Holden/Worcester area. Here are the details – all of you between yourselves need to determine a location. Once you have determined a location, let us know. He will deliver to that agreed upon location any one who sends $5 here (before November 6) to cover his gas and hassle. Make the check out to Many Hands Organic Farm. He will have the food delivered by 5 pm each CSA day.

We already have 2 lbs each week of potatoes set aside, have plenty of carrots in the field, and are planning a nice array of crops from the field and in the hoop house. If you have not sent in your final payments for the Fall CSA please do so before November 6.

Thanks for being a part of this late season CSA. It should be fun and tasty!

Julie
